Writing Coaching

Even the most gifted writers get stuck or find themselves needing to write in a genre that doesn’t come naturally to them. (Don’t ask how long it took me to write this website copy, for example). Sometimes you need a fresh pair of eyes on your situation. I can coach you through sticking points, talk through effective strategies for different types of writing, and identify missing pieces of knowledge or training to help get you to the next level.

Writing coaching is also a great option for writers and scholars with learning disabilities or who speak English as a second (or third or fourth) language. I can give you crash courses on Anglophone academic argumentation; cultural expectations for tone, structure, and evidence; and navigating the U.S. funding environment for grants and scholarships.
